Upgrade SAP Netweaver without EHP

Hi experts,

Context : SAP ERP 6.0 EHP5 SAP_BASIS 7.02 Kernel 7.21

Could you please confirm that we can upgrade Netweaver 7.02 to 7.31 (or 7.40) without upgrade to ERP EHP6 (or 7) as we want to deploy Gateway for FIORI embedded ?

I don't find any official note...

The requirement for installing gateway is Netweaver >= 7.31 (Fiori Wave 2)
