I am planning to upgrade my EHP 6 to 7 and found out that 8 is also released so need some information /help in deciding whether to go to EHP 7 or directly got to 8.

I tried to Calculate file upgrade to EHP 8 but then little confuse there as well so need some guidance

When I go to MOPZ then I am not clear on the Technical Usage as its little different from EHP6 and 7

So most are not enabled and have few selection option. Does it mean that not enabled one are by default coming . Under Central Application there is only One option available.

I am in the process of migrating ECC EHP6 SP10 to HANA SP11 using SUM SP 16 PL6. This is dev system, during ACT_UPG phase, there are multiple table activation errors as below. Example - During inital phase I see errors on few tables and as per note, I need to just repeat the phase but not supposed to choose the ignore non-severe errors. So I tried to repeat again, second time I got different set of table activation errors and I repeated again, third time with different set of tables, so on and so forth but it looks to be never ending process. I am performing this for almost 2 days. I have created message with SAP, they have advised to keep repeating till errors go away but errors doesn't seem to go away. The weird part is, one table DVKTX is consistent among all the time when I see ACT_UPG.SAV file.

My question is, has anyone come across ACT_UPG activation errors in ECC EHP7 HANA migration?

2. Have anyone tried to ignore non-severe errors? Any issues if ignored?

     My current enviroment is Win2008, CRM7 IDES, NW 7 EHP1 and MSSql 2005 sp3. I want to upgrade CRM7 EHP4.

I install JRE6. Extract the lastest SUM 1.0 SP16 into \usr\sap\crd.

Then logon on via <SID>adm.

Run STARTUP.BAT and keep command console on.

Open IE and enter HTTP://localhost:4239, display "it is not supported..."

Run ..\sdt\exe\DSUGui.bat Directly, display "The Software Update Manager SDT GUI  is no longer supported..."

Would someone please elaborate on the reason for a minimum 7.30 NW portal when upgrading to ECC, enhancement pack 7?  I see it as a requirement, but what exactly won't work with a 7.0 portal?  If we do not wish to incorporate new capabilities and just continue as is, is it still a requirement?  Will continuing use with the 7.0 portal result in issues with jco connections, problems with single sign on, etc?  Has anyone upgraded to EHP 7 and continued using an older release of the portal?

The ora-01400 error is related to the NULL insert breaking the "NOT NULL" rules of the table definition in the shadow table.

I can't see any similar hits in SDN, Notes and even google search doesn't throw much up.

Does anyone have any ideas on the solution to enable me to continue with the Ehp6 upgrade process ?

     We are upgrading to ERP 6 EHP 7 SP08 with NW 7.4 SP10. We have a problem in the phase PREP_GENCHECKS/NTACK_CHK wich shows the error 2EETP000XRead table " " pgntab call: table not found.

A few weeks ago, we made changes in the SAP Note 1910297, the kernel will change to the directory of SUM/exe, but giving us the error logs missing at SUM directory, we are using teh version DB2 9.5 and wich also stops working after making changes.

After, we perform the restore of the database and system, we made an upgrade DB2 9.7 to DB2 10.5 but now still shows the same error.

I logged in to 000 with DDIC in shadow instance and I could see

We're upgrading  SAP E-Recruiting (standalone) on Netweaver 7.4 to EHP8/Netweaver 7.5 and unfortunately running into the issue at the SUM (1.0 SP16 PL12) phase PREP_INPUT_CHECK/READDATA_EXP.

We put all the export DVDs of ERP and NetWeaver under EHP8 following the SAP Note but can't get through.

I found people have similar problems with the SEM-BW (Stuck in SUM phase READDATA_EXP (EHP8). When we tried to follow the same approach of SEM-BW from the SAP guideSpecial Cases in Installation and Update | SCN,it didn't work because I guess SAP hasn't created additional product versions for ERECRUITING like SEM-BW in the SAP software catalog.  We can't simply get rid of the "SAP ERP 6.0" in LMDB without causing the verification error in the maintenance planner because it can't recognize the ERECRUIT any more.  So we had to add it back before we can generate the STACK.XML.  Then everything just get back to the beginning where the problem happens.  We raised an ticket (162093/2016) and SAP Support  gave a few suggestions which can't resolve it yet.

I wonder if someone has experienced this situation and could share any workaround or solution.

My client is upgrading its version from 6.0 to 6.7, what they have done earlier is that they have changed the standard posting keys like 40/50 to Debit/Credit for ease of user understanding.

Just wanted to know whether an upgrade will have any impact on standard object like this and will revert to its original 40/50 or will remain the same?

I do the EHP6 upgrade of our ERP system.

SAPup  is in Preprocessing stage.

But MAIN_SHDIMP/SUBMOD_SHDIMP/SHADOW_IMPORT_INC  phase is running more 24 hours.

Logs generation stopped many hours ago. I can see some R3trans processes are running but no CPU utilization consumed.

I can see only one process  working  more or less intense is javaw.exe.

OS : Windows 2008 R2 server

DB: Oracle 11.2.3

ERP 6 EHP6 upgrading.

I restarted SAPup but it cams down at the same point after importing some objects (SAPK-731BCINSAPBASIS_11468_11468_016490 package file)

My questions are

1) What wrong and/or how long should I wait for finishing of the process?

2) Can I increase performance of the process (i.e., can i add r3trans process quantity or something else at the stage?)

3) Shadows instance is needs to run this phase? because shadows instance is stopped.

SPDD adjustments have been done in 000, and i have released the task and marked the TR DR2K987221 for upgrade.

DR2K987221 is a workbench TR and SUM is creating DR2K987223 as a transport of copies and failing in above step.

I have followed SAP KBA 1735879 but this is not valid in our case. I have raised a message with SAP but till now of no help.

I have reset the upgrade once and done all the steps but getting this error again in this step.

Please suggest if anyone has got this error.

We are trying to upgrade to  EHP7 from SAP 4.7  with add-ons VIRSANH and VIRSAHR version 530_620 on source

but on SUM Phase PREP_EXTENSION/IS_SELECT it show 4 options,

but  we want to delete those add-ons, we don't need it so my question is which  SAINT package is expecting because after mark

"Delete the add-on with SAINT package actively" it says "The program has not found a matching SAINT package for 'VIRSAHR'."
